Home Repair

An Affordable Home Repair Program

With the everyday expenses of raising a family, it can be difficult to keep up with needed home repairs and improvements that risk the safety of the family, the value of the property and the stability of the home.

Our Home Repair program offers qualified families a 0% interest loan repaid to Fox Cities Habitat within a seven-year timeframe. We have trained staff, site leaders and volunteers that work alongside homeowners in addressing many repair needs.

Examples of critical repairs this program addresses:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Ceiling and roof repairs
  • Windows and door replacement
  • Foundation repair
  • Lead paint mitigation
  • Furnace and water heater replacement
  • Other major repairs

Free lead remediation services available

Lead poisoning is a dangerous disease, especially for children. Many older homes, built prior to 1978, may have lead risks. To see if you qualify for free lead remediation work in your home, which may include the replacement of siding and windows, please visit our Lead Safe Homes page.

Services are available to qualified homeowners in Calumet, Outagamie, Waupaca and Northern Winnebago counties. Priority is given to critical interior and exterior repairs that pose a safety risk or code violation pertaining to the health, safety and well-being of the people living in the home.

For additional information, review our downloadable informational overview.

Amber, smiling while talking about the home repair received from Rock the Block program

“We knew our siding was lead-based. There was no way we’d be able to afford the work done to our house without the Home Repair program. Thank you so much for changing our lives and making our home a place that is safe for our daughter, family and neighbors.”

– Amber, Neenah homeowner
