WHY VOLUNTEER WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY?
Your skills can help our organization provide affordable housing solutions for deserving families in the community. There are tasks for skilled and unskilled construction professionals, retail, stocking and deconstruction work at the Habitat ReStore, office assistance work at our main office, and family service and other committee work. We also have opportunities for those who enjoy cooking to provide lunch or snacks for our construction volunteers. Most of these tasks only require a willingness to learn and an ability to work with others.

What is the Senior Crew?
The Senior Crew is a group of individuals who give their time to Habitat on a regularlyscheduled basis. While, yes, the bulk of the members are retired, we have plenty of members who are teachers/students who volunteer on school breaks, young professionals who volunteer on weekends and even those in between careers.
Members receive priority scheduling and specialized training to work sites and membership in the group includes free Senior Crew clothing, social activities and more! For more information on joining Senior Crew, contact Jodi Isom at (920) 967-8882 or via email at [email protected]

Rock the Block
What is Rock the Block?
Rock the Block is an event held in a targeted neighborhood for a concentrated period of time, focusing on small-scale home repair and preservation projects for low income homeowners, and community projects to improve and beautify the neighborhood surrounding the homes.
What Does Rock the Block Look Like?
Imagine over 500 of your closest friends, family and community members circling around this neighborhood, coming together and lifting it up through park clean ups, exterior home repairs, landscaping, painting and more!

Minors Age 14-17
We believe that volunteer service is great for those of all ages, however, due to our insurance regulations, we are required to have age restrictions for volunteers ages 14 to 17. Please see list of restrictions below.
Court Ordered Community Service hours MUST be served through our Habitat ReStore. Service hours through church, school, etc are available can be completed at either Habitat ReStore or on our build sites.
How does a minor sign up to volunteer?
- The minor goes on VolunteerHub and selects an open volunteer shift
- An adult, over age 18, must sign up for the same volunteer shift WITH THE MINOR
- The VolunteerHub system will prompt the minor to print, fill out and bring paperwork with them to volunteer
- **Parent or guardian must sign the minor waiver/forms regardless of the adult volunteering with them (youth group leader, etc)
Additional waiver forms are available below:
Minor forms require the signature of a parent/guardian and minors must be accompanied by an adult over age 18. No one under age 14 can be onsite when construction is taking place.
Are there age restrictions for construction volunteers under age 18?
Yes, our insurance company mandates our age policy:
- No one under age 14 can be on a Habitat worksite when construction is going on
- Youth ages 14-15 can help with painting, landscaping or cleaning with an adult present
- Youth ages 16-17 can help with general construction tasks and must have one adult to every three youth
- No one under age 18 can work on a roof, go on a ladder or use power tools

The program is often seen as a domestic Peace Corps. It employs more than 75,000 Americans in intensive service each year.
