HOW DO I SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER?
Individual volunteers can sign up online for volunteer opportunities that work for their schedule.
Groups that want to volunteer together should look at the link above, pick a day that works for that group and then contact Jodi Isom, our Volunteer Services Manager. Jodi can be reached via email at jodii@FoxCitiesHabitat.org or (920) 967-8882. Jodi will reserve those spots for your group and send you a special website link to share with your group’s volunteers.
You can also sign up to receive weekly email updates that are sent every Friday and list all volunteer opportunities and announcements.
WHEN ARE CONSTRUCTION WORKDAYS?
Our construction season runs year round! Work days for construction are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7:45am to 4:00pm. Home rehab and home repair projects allow us to work year round.
WHAT IF I’M SIGNED UP AND I NEED TO CANCEL?
If you need to cancel for any volunteer position, you can cancel online. If you need to cancel within 10 days of your volunteer commitment, please contact Volunteer Services Manager, Jodi Isom, at (920) 544-7856 or via email at jodii@FoxCitiesHabitat.org. Please note: We do NOT receive notification if you cancel online, so please be courteous and contact Jodi also if within 10 days.
If you have a cancellation for the Habitat ReStore, contact the staff at (920) 830-8400.
WHAT ABOUT WEATHER CONDITIONS/RAIN?
Please look at the task you’re signed up to help with. If it is an interior task (insulation, ceiling or wall sheetrock, underlayment, painting, interior finish work, cleaning, etc.) we will work regardless of weather conditions. If the construction task is an outside task, we may call off the workday due to rain or inclement weather.

WHAT IS PROVIDED TO ME WHEN I VOLUNTEER ONSITE?
Habitat provides coffee, water and lemonade onsite. We also provide lunch for most full workdays (7:45am – 4:00pm workdays). If lunch is not going to be provided, you will be notified to bring your own lunch. For half days, no meal is provided. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, you may want to bring your own lunch.
ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION VOLUNTEERS UNDER AGE 18?
Yes, our insurance company mandates our age policy.
No one under age 14 can be on a Habitat worksite when construction is going on.
Youth ages 14-15 can help with painting, landscaping or cleaning with a parent along.
Youth ages 16-17 can help with general construction tasks and must have one adult to every three youth.
No one under age 18 can work on a roof, go on a ladder or use power tools.
There is a special registration/liability form required for volunteers under age 18. All minor volunteers MUST print, fill out and bring their paperwork when they volunteer. They cannot electronically sign the waiver online as adults can do. Contact Jodi Isom for more details about getting teens involved in volunteering.
WHAT IF I’M INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING AT HABITAT RESTORE?

WHAT IF I KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS BUILDING WITH HABITAT (I.E. A HABITAT HOMEOWNER)? CAN I HELP BUILD THEIR HOME SPECIFICALLY?
Certainly! Habitat homeowners are allowed to have friends and family help build their home. Special volunteers spots are reserved for homeowners and their friends and family on their own build. Contact the homeowner directly or Jodi Isom for a special link to sign up online in this role.
WHAT IS THE HABITAT SENIOR CREW?
Our Senior Crew is a group of highly dedicated volunteers that commit to volunteering regularly with Habitat. They serve as the leadership volunteers on our worksites. They are mostly over age 55 and retired, but not always. If you’re interested in hearing more about our Fabulous Senior Crew, contact Jodi Isom for a short one-on-one orientation meeting.
IS IT REQUIRED TO ATTEND A VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION?
We require volunteer orientation for volunteers who intend to be “regular” with Habitat. If you are just signing up for one workday, whether as an individual or group, you do not need to attend a volunteer orientation. However, if you have volunteered several times or you intend to volunteer somewhat regularly, we would like you to attend one of our sessions.

How do I sign up to Volunteer?
Simply click on the link provided. This takes you to our main page and you can see and sign up for all volunteer opportunities open to any volunteers.
What if I need to cancel?
Our system allows you to cancel yourself up to 3 days prior to the event you signed up for. Simply click on the “cancel” button from the email you received confirming your volunteer sign up OR log in and go to “my schedule” and you can cancel from there.
Why does it say “registration is closed?”
We have set certain sign up time limits for various volunteer roles. This is to ensure that we have enough volunteer coverage for the things we do. For construction, the cut off to sign up is 2 weeks prior to the event. We do this so we can supplement senior crew volunteers where needed. It takes time behind-the-scenes for us to organize everyone we have available.
Can I sign up someone else?
No. Because you must electronically sign our wavier online, each person must create their own account and sign themselves up.
How do minors sign up?
Minors sign up just like adults, but they are not allowed to electronically sign the waiver. Minors ages 14-17 must print the minor registration paperwork, have it signed by a parent and bring it with them when they volunteer. There are other rules for minor volunteers. To access this form and see all age restrictions mandated by our insurance company, head to our “students” section on our website’s volunteer page.
What if I’m part of a group or my group is sponsoring a home?
We do reserve volunteer spots for certain groups. If you are volunteering as part of a sponsor group (for example, Interfaith or Thrivent Builds), the main coordinator for your group will receive a special link that includes just the volunteer opportunities reserved for you. Contact the coordinator of your build OR Jodi Isom to get that special link.
If you’d like to organize a group (aside from a sponsor group) to volunteer, you should click on the main link above and find a volunteer opportunity that fits for your group. Then you can coordinate it so everyone signs up for that opportunity. We no longer hold or reserve days for groups, so you must coordinate it among the volunteers in your group to sign up together.
What if I’m part of a specialized group of Habitat volunteers, like the Senior Crew, home buyers doing sweat equity or something you must be trained to do (cashier at ReStore for example)?
We use special links for specific groups of volunteers. You must be approved as part of this group to volunteer in these roles. If you desire to be part of one of these groups, simply email Jodi Isom (home buyers, construction senior crew, etc.) or email Benni Westgor (any trained ReStore volunteers – cashiers, customer service or donation ambassadors or ReStore senior crew).
