How We Operate
The Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization the relies on generous contributions from individuals, families, businesses and other organizations. These funds aren’t just contributions, they are investments. We are able to generate a sustainable funding source through our mortgages that will assist in funding our programs for years to come.
The Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity prides itself on our efficiency, not only in using and reusing all of our materials onsite, but also in planning for our entire organization. We have been named a ‘Trusted Partner’ by Guidestar, an organization that validates non-profit financial information.
Alternative Funding Sources
Habitat’s mortgage recycling program is a unique economic model designed to promote financial self-sufficiency. Through the support of volunteer construction crews, Habitat is able to offer families zero interest, no-profit mortgages that homeowners pay off over the course of 15 to 30 years. During the life of the mortgage, each monthly payment is recycled into the operating budget to help finance future homes.
The Habitat ReStore continues to provide a sustainable source of revenue for our mission. As of the close of the last fiscal year, the Habitat ReStore has returned over $750,000 to supporting our general fund.
