I remember moving away from the only place I ever called home “Milwaukee, Wisconsin,” not sure if I was making the best decision or not. I just knew that I had a strong urge to save my family.
I would be telling a lie if I said I wasn’t afraid, but I was with prayer and faith, it helped me make a hard decision to move to a new town. I found out I was expecting a new addition to my family. Which was more of a reason to relocate. Gabrielle is now 7 years old, she follows behind her three brothers Drayon, Aaron, and Boris, which are now all adults.
Moving to Appleton, Wisconsin has been nothing but an amazing experience good and bad. Nevertheless, definitely a learning experience, and still I continue to learn, here communicating with others. Example: I was talking to a great friend and she was telling me a lot about Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity home buyer program. After listening to her all I could think was “there’s no way I could be a part of that program.”
However, God had his own plans for my life. With a little education from the help of the Habitat family, the hope, the encouragement, and the hard work. I am on my way to owning my own home. God it’s so great! Thank you, Habitat, for helping me accomplish my dreams of buying my own home.
