I grew up in the Menasha/Appleton area. Went to Menasha High and FVTC, I married Sue almost 50 years ago and we had three daughters. We now have five grandchildren ranging in age from 18yrs to 3yrs.
During my time with Menasha Corp. they sponsored a blitz build in 1997 that I volunteered for. That is when I found out what Habitat does for families. When I retired the Senior Crew was in full swing. Normally I volunteer two days a week.
The other days are finding time for grandkids, taking trips (bus car etc.) and camping/hunting with the older grandsons.
What I enjoy most about Habitat is the home repair and home rehab programs. After remodeling our two homes this fits with a post career change. Habitat with its hand up approach to helping families, is what I like the most.
The most surprising thing about me would be that I am a closet railfan/model railroader. I enjoy being stopped by trains.
