Bank of Kaukauna and Bassett Mechanical pledged multiyear sponsorships of Rock the Block. The City of Kaukauna sponsored Rock the Block and provided in-kind services. Unison Credit Union and East Wisconsin Savings sponsored neighborhood projects and sent volunteer teams. St. Katharine Drexel provided our “home base” for Rock the Block. Immanuel UCC, Expera, Kaukauna Untilies, the Lioness Club, Kim Reynebeau with the Times Villager and Chartwells sponsored lunches with Larry’s Piggly Wiggly and Hilltop Bakery making large in-kind donations. Kathy Breitzman and Julie Carlson personally sponsored a project. Kathy was a whirlwind of activity and shared the idea of Rock the Block with everyone.
We apologize for anyone we missed. We all owe thanks as Kaukauna Rock the Block continued the evolution of our efforts as donors and teams came increasingly from the local community. Habitat was a coordinator but the sense of “neighborhood” led people to help each other. The credit for the good works goes to the donors and the volunteers – Habitat was merely the method to deliver it.
Our affiliate would like to have greater connections in Little Chute and Kimberly. We have begun to reach out to businesses and groups in these communities but ask your help in forwarding us connections. If you are aware of a business or community group that could help donate to a future Rock the Block wave, please contact Tom Simon at (920) 967-8883 or [email protected].
