Liane is one of a small army of volunteers who devote their volunteer time to Habitat in their own kitchens. She prepares, delivers and serves lunches to our volunteer crews at Habitat worksites typically 1-3 times a month, year-round! She also is one of our best snack donors when we need treats for meetings or special events. Her baking talents are as wonderful as her cooking talents! When Liane is the cook, the volunteer crews are thrilled because they always know they’re in for a treat when her name is on the schedule.
Liane said this about why she helps in this way, “I have admired the work of Habitat since I first heard about it, and have been excited to use my time and talent to help this wonderful organization. I may not be good at pounding a nail or using a drill, but I can cook, and so enjoy making interesting, nutritious meals for the hard-working crews. It is an honor to be able to help an organization that does so much to make our communities better places and makes it possible for many people who never thought they could be homeowners of their own beautiful homes.”
As Habitat continues to grow and serve more families, it is crucial that we find new sources for meal donations. If you or someone you know or a local restaurant are interested in helping Habitat in this way, simply email Jodi Isom [email protected] and she’ll add you to our email distribution list for food donors. That group receives occasional emails from Jodi listing all food donation needs and you simply sign up as it works into your schedule!
All food donations to Habitat are tax deductible.
