Erin Olsen and her son, Evan, built with Habitat in 2008. A few years later, she married Graham and the family excelled in the safe, decent and affordable house they called home. In 2013, Graham reached out to Habitat and in an offer to give back to the organization that gave so much to his family, he made plans to take professional headshots for the Habitat staff.“Even in these simple headshots, you could see his gift. He was fun to be around and easy to work with,” commended Vaya Kiel, Habitat’s Communications Specialist. Soon, he expanded into shooting events for Habitat including Celebration of Partnership, Rock the Block and Habitat’s Hard Hats & Heels events.
Graham began his photography journey at age 16. He spent the following years perfecting his craft and learning the ropes of photojournalism while working alongside the professionals at The Post-Crescent. Through these experiences Graham doesn’t just take photos, he tells a story.
“You don’t have to be an expert to see Graham’s photos are beautiful,” shared Kiel. “He has a gift in capturing such deep emotions in a single photo: the pride in our homeowners, the dedication in our volunteers and the fun in our events. With Graham’s photos, pictures are worth more than a thousand words and his work is invaluable to our events. Many of our donor thank you’s, event promotions and project accomplishments rely on these photos to be the best they can be and with Graham, we’re never disappointed. He adapts quickly to venue, type of event and even messaging doing whatever it takes to get the right shot. Graham is a true visual storyteller.”
Most recently, Graham shot Habitat’s Celebration of Partnership event in March. “The photos really capture the love of our Habitat family and we’re blessed to have Graham be a part of it.”
Graham is active in the local community with his work shooting for Mile of Music, Pulse Young Professionals, weddings and more. For more information on how you can hire Graham for your event, call at (920) 810-2211 or email at [email protected]
