Home Builders Association of the Fox Cities joins Habitat for Humanity to build house in one week
Throughout the week of June 6-10, members of Home Builders Association of the Fox Cities (HBA Fox Cities) will join Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity (“Habitat”) to construct a house in only five days as part of the Habitat National Home Builders Blitz week.
This project, led by HBA Fox Cities’ members and General Contractor Ryan Smith, Headliner Homes and Construction Manager Brian Calmes, Calmes & Rohm Construction, will build strength, stability and self-reliance for the Vang Her family.
In partnership with FNB Fox Valley, Drexel Building Supply and more than 20 additional HBA Fox Cities’ members and staff, wall raising begins Monday morning. Volunte
ers as well as professional tradespeople will work from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday to complete the three- bedroom, one-bathroom home.
“At a time when the home building industry is thriving and projects are plentiful, members are putting aside private projects to partner with Habitat for Humanity and Home Builders
Association of the Fox Cities to donate their time and materials to complete this accelerated-build project,” said HBA Fox Cities President Paul Schroeder, Schroeder Carpentry. “HBA Fox Cities strives to support the community in which our members do work, and believes the dream of homeownership should be attainable for all.”
In addition to this project in the Fox Cities, 71 other Habitat affiliates in 31 states across the U.S. are building, renovating and repairing nearly 250 homes, June 6-10.
